The Vori's Mate by S.J. Sanders5/11/2023 ![]() All have their own beauty, and all have their own drawbacks that place the main characters in danger. As a reader you get to explore multiple planets, from swamps to deserts to jungles. Often a character’s earlier appearances are more world-building than necessity to know, with all relevant details explained in the novel that character features. Sanders keeps the number of characters limited, so you don’t need to really be guessing who is who. For example, a side character that appears for only a few pages in a novel may appear as a main character in a subsequent novel. The novels build upon each other in a way that makes character reappearances sometimes unexpected, and fun. It’s a bit slow starting, but once you’re in its hard to not fall in love. ![]() ![]() The Mate Index was a surprisingly good read that draws you into a universe filled with complex alien cultures, monsters ready to eat you, and compelling characters. ![]()
